Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy

Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy is in the Bustleton neighborhood of Philadelphia. Pegasus is dedicated to serving children and adults with disabilities, diagnoses, and those in at-risk populations by providing therapeutic horseback riding programs and equine-assisted activities and therapies.

Down North Pizza

This episode of Our City, Your Orchestra takes us to Down North Pizza in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of Philadelphia. Down North seeks to erase employment barriers faced by formerly incarcerated men and women, by providing culinary career opportunities. Learn more about their important work, including performances in collaboration with Khemist and KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School.

Pathways to Housing works to empower people with disabilities to improve their housing stability, achieve better health, and reclaim their lives. Guided by the belief that housing is a basic human right, and everyone deserves a place to call home, Pathways to Housing creates a culture where it is easy to practice kindness, and everyone is welcomed with grace and hospitality.

Prevention Point

Musicians of the Orchestra visited Prevention Point Philadelphia in Kensington to kick off this season of Our City, Your Orchestra. Prevention Point Philadelphia promotes health, empowerment, and safety for communities affected by drug use and poverty.

Paul Robeson House and Museum

Members of the Orchestra visit the Paul Robeson House and Museum in West Philadelphia to learn more about Robeson and his life’s work fighting against injustice.

Johnson House Historic Site

The Johnson House, located in nearby Germantown, was a pivotal station along the Underground Railroad in the 1800’s.

Grant BLVD

Grant BLVD is an ethically sourced, sustainable clothing store in West Philadelphia that uses upcycled garments and fashion to create employment opportunities and raise awareness for marginalized communities.

Citizenship and Immigration Services
