2017 Classic Honorees

The Philadelphia Orchestra is pleased and proud to honor at its 2017 Golf Classic two outstanding individuals who have contributed significantly to its advancement–David G. Marshall and Robert Cafaro - at its 2017 Golf Classic.

David G. Marshall - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Amerimar Realty Company, has been a leader in real estate investment, development, and management for over 40 years. He and his wife, Sandy, are long-time friends, volunteer leaders, subscribers and donors to The Philadelphia Orchestra. A noted philanthropist and community leader, David has also contributed to, and led, many local organizations, including the Fox Chase Cancer Center, the Damon Runyan Cancer Research Fund, the Kimmel Center, the Curtis Institute, the Federated Allied Jewish Appeal, the Foreign Policy Research Institute, and many others.

Robert Cafaro - One of The Philadelphia Orchestra’s multi-talented and world-famous musicians. Bob has played cello with the Orchestra for 31 years, where he is the current incumbent of the Volunteer Committees Chair. He has been a passionate, active leader and advocate on behalf of the Orchestra, contributing his talents, warmth, and friendship to many through numerous outreach activities and visits to hundreds of local schools, retirement communities, and nursing homes. Bob’s remarkable story of recovery from a life threatening case of multiple sclerosis, chronicled in his book When the Music Stopped: My Battle and Victory against MS, is an inspiration to his legion of friends, fans, and admirers around the world.

Please join us in recognizing these two extraordinary honorees at the 2017 Golf Classic on May 8, 2017, at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, PA, one of our region’s finest, most historic, and noteworthy golf courses.

In the event that weather forces the Philadelphia Orchestra Golf Classic to be postponed, the Orchestra will work to reschedule the event to a future date.
