Timpani Master Class
Timpani have the power (and need, occasionally) to dominate in the orchestra, but they also have the ability and responsibility to reflect string playing, brass articulations and tone, and woodwind presence in sound color. This class is an exploration of ways to find parallels between timpani stroke speeds as they relate to ways of making sounds on strings, brass, and woodwinds. Join Principal Timpani Don Liuzzi and other members of The Philadelphia Orchestra: First Associate Concertmaster Juliette Kang, Associate Principal Horn Jeffrey Lang, and Associate Principal Flute Patrick Williams.
