Planned Giving

Gifts of Stock
Below you will find all of the information necessary to transfer appreciated securities to The Philadelphia Orchestra. There is no minimum gift requirement to execute a stock transfer.
1. In order for us to identify your generous gift and issue a tax receipt, please be sure to inform us of your intent to give, as privacy laws discourage brokerage firms from releasing the names of clients. Please provide the following information:
- Name of securities and number of shares
- Brokerage house / accounting firm, contact name, and phone number
- Your address, phone number, and e-mail address
Please notify us of your stock gift through any of the methods listed above
2. Provide your financial advisor with the following information for the Orchestra’s account with PNC Investments.

The Philadelphia Orchestra values gifts of stock based on the average of the high and low price of the stock on the day the stock is transferred into our account. Acknowledgements of the gift will be sent directly to the donor.
For donors who wish to donate a physical stock certificate to the Orchestra, please contact us.
Family Foundations
The Philadelphia Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) organization and is eligible to receive gifts from Family Foundations. Below is some of the information you or your Foundation Administrator may need to issue a gift to our organization:
